13 May Street is a pilot demonstration project for new construction with a net-zero ready footprint. The 2,800 SF structure features a passive solar design in a super insulated building envelope with side by side two-bedroom apartments. The goal of the project is to develop a sustainable scalable housing model that is successful in both meeting the building’s energy requirements and contributing to the public utility grid. Each apartment offers luxury finishes with abundant natural light and an open floor plan, with a private outdoor patio and off-street parking, within walking distance of bus lines, schools, shopping, and Griffin Hospital. Developed and designed by O’Riordan Migani Architects with the support of the Connecticut Department of Housing and Capital for Change, in partnership with PMA Properties.
